Proper Cowboy Boot Fit
New boots should feel comfortably snug. The ball of the foot
should be right in the widest part of the boot, indicating
proper arch length and adequate toe room (toes should sit
flat and free). The boot should be snug over the instep (top
of the foot) since there are no laces, buckles, etc. Finally,
there should be a slight lift in the heel when you walk (approx.
½ inch) which will subside as the sole starts to flex. If
a boot is too tight there will be little or no lift and if
a boot is too big, the heel will slip dramatically.
If you cannot make it into our store, the following seven
steps along with this
diagram will aid us in determining the correct size of
your feet.
|
Step 1.
|
Trace the outline of each foot on a piece of paper using
a pencil held perpendicular to the paper. |
|
Step 2.
|
Measure the circumference around the ball of foot (left
& right). |
|
Step 3.
|
Measure the circumference around the instep of the foot
(left & right). |
|
Step 4.
|
Measure the length of the foot from the back of the
heel to the center of the ball of the foot (left &
right). |
|
Step 5.
|
Measure the length of each foot when standing (left
& right) |
|
Step 6.
|
Shoe/boot size and width you normally wear. |
|
Step 7.

Measure the circumference around the widest part of
the calf of the leg and the height from the floor (left
& right). |
